Dr. Westhoff was born and raised in western Kansas. She earned her Bachelors with a field major in Science and a minor in Chemistry from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Westhoff completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, and completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology there, as well.
Dr. Westhoff has received several awards and honors including the William Algie, M.D. Award at the Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, the Rotary International Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship Award, Appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Air Force Academy Falcon Foundation Scholarship, Robert W. Baughman Scholarship, and the Service Academy Scholarship. She has also been a member of several honor societies including Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity, National Honor Society and the Kansas Honor Society.
Dr. Westhoff is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She has board certifications in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Westhoff’s clinical training and interests include general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, Celiac disease, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, CRH O'Regan system, pancreaticobiliary disease, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), and liver disease.
Dr. Westhoff practiced in Colorado for ten years after training during which she performed over 20,000 endoscopic procedures, served as the medical director of the hospital endoscopy laboratory, served on the group board of managers, was a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America chapter medical advisory committee, and a member of the hospital GI Cancer Disease site team. She has lectured in the community and at conferences on topics such as Colorectal Cancer Screening, Celiac Disease and Liver Disease in Women, among others.
Dr. Westhoff has enjoyed her move back to Kansas, which has allowed her to be closer to family, and to care for her fellow Kansans.
